Hi all! Thanks for coming to check out this week’s blog!

This weekly installment will have lots and lots of information!  Please check out our calendar for upcoming events!

Firstly, I’d like to start off by mentioning that Russ has been working hard. He is currently studying arduously for his Course Director Training Course (CDTC)! So if you happen to see Russ, pat him on the back and tell him everything will be okay! He is working hard in order to make Deep Blue Quest able to serve the diving community in more ways! Ever since Deep Blue Quest became an IDC center, many things new things have sprung up! So this means we’re putting Russ to work. Best thing ever.

Oooooo. Shiny!

In February, Deep Blue Quest will be holding an Instructor Development Course. If this is something that interests you, please make sure to contact us to sign up as soon as possible!

Next on the agenda!

This past weekend, we had the illustrious Pat teach the Enriched Air class to 3 outstanding pupils. Even through bronchitis, he managed to teach all those confusing dive planning tables. Yikes! He’s like the little train that could. Way to go, Pat! And way to go, students! There’s a free t-shirt if you sign up for the class (supplies are limited)!

Congratulations, guys!

We will be offering Discover Scuba sessions for 60,000 won. This is an awesome opportunity to get people exposed to scuba diving! So bring your friends to have them see how cool the feeling of breathing underwater is.

There’s also an EFR (Emergency First Response) class set up for this weekend. Make sure to sign up! This is a great educational opportunity for everyone. These skills are important to help in case you ever find yourself in an emergency situation. Contact us to sign up.

Next big news!

Deep Blue Quest will have a booth during this year’s SPOEX (Seoul International Sports & Leisure Industry Show). Make sure to stop by to say hi to the staff  and to see what we have to offer this year. SPOEX will be held February 21 – 24 (Thursday – Sunday). To reserve your ticket, go to: http://www.spoex.com/english/index.asp

Hope to see you there!

Also this weekend, we are offering the PADI Nitrox (Enriched Air) on Saturday. Whoever signs up gets a free t-shirt when they sign up for the course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

You can typically stay down longer and get back in the water sooner. Contact us immediately to reserve your spot!

Have friends or loved ones you’d like to get involved in scuba diving? Not to worry! You can sign them up for Discover Scuba. This program allows you to try scuba diving to see if you like it without plunging into the certification if you’re unsure. It’s closely monitored by a professional, so you can feel at ease! There’s no need to fear, Russ is here! We will be offering Discover Scuba both Saturday and Sunday.

All you need to bring is your swimsuit, towel, and an eagerness to try it out! Come see what all the fuss is about.

Take Dive, Okinawa, Japan

Happy belated New Year from Deep Blue Quest!

From December 29th – January 3rd, DBQ headed to Take Dive in Okinawa, Japan. There will be another trip in June. Make sure you join! You will really enjoy the diving and the people in Okinawa. It’s a beautiful place. The weather was spectacular (except just a tad bit windy on a couple of days). Great diving. Great people. Great experience.

The trip was incredible! Deep Blue Quest would like to really thank Joseph “Gucci” Gugliemelli and Hidenobu Yoshimura for their time and effort to make this trip a really good time. They really went out of their way to make this a memorable tour. Again, thank you!

As soon as we arrived at Okinawa, we went straight to diving! Awesome way to start the trip! We visited Maeda Point, which is a very popular diving and snorkeling spot. And luckily, we got to see the awesome cave inside. The view was breathtaking.

The next few days followed with a lot of fun diving. Hide and Gucci took us to several beautiful diving spots. We also got to see some very cool Japanese paraphernalia including an outdated Asahi can and an actual car! Whoa!

Unfortunately, he didn't save 15% on his car insurance :(
